March 2021 Update
The governor's decision to remove the mask mandate brings optimism and skepticism to many. For us at Connection Point, we are excited that the number of cases is down and vaccinations have begun. We are optimistic that the pandemic may be soon coming to an end. We are also cautious. Our policy has been to err on the side of caution for our members and to provide both in-person and online options in order to allow our members to make the best decisions for themselves and their loved ones. We encourage those who gather together to continue to wear masks while entering/ exiting facilities and while singing. We also will continue to check temperatures and continue to social distance at gatherings.
Here is our current strategy for the Spring of 2021.
1. Monthly Church in the Park Services
We desire to host an outdoor service once a month so that we can safely gather together to worship. We will meet at the Murphy Central Park Amphitheater on the following dates at 10:30am:
Sunday, March 7
Sunday, April 4 (Easter)
Sunday, May 9 (Mother's Day)
Sunday, June 6
Sunday, July 4 (Independence Day cookout if possible)
We will also provide a livestream for each of these dates.
2. Remote Livestreams from Neighborhood Gatherings.
In addition to the outdoor services, we will livestream once per month from one of our neighborhood gatherings. Here is the tentative schedule for livestreams at Neighborhood Gatherings
Sunday, March 28 @ Inspiration Gathering
Sunday, April 11, 18, 25 @ Inspiration Gathering
Sunday, May 1, 16, 23, 30 @ Inspiration Gathering
Sunday, June 13, 20, 27 @ TBD
3. Monthly Lunch Meetups
We are a church that has fun. Unfortunately, we cannot host regular "pot-luck" buffets right now, but we can meet outside and bring our own lunches in order to safely gather together. Beginning in March, we hope to have a monthly outdoor fellowship that will allow us to safely eat and have fun together as a church. We will post the dates here as soon as we can confirm the details.
4. Neighborhood gatherings.
We will continue to host weekly neighborhood gatherings for those who feel safe enough to watch the online service together. Each Neighborhood Gathering will observe social distancing and wear masks while singing and moving about.
